Psychotherapy and Counselling

Sometimes life can be tougher than at others. This can be because of additional stress that has been added on or maybe you have just decided that you have had enough of feeling like you are only just surviving

I would like to offer you a space in which we can explore why life is tougher for you right now and help you find a way forward that feels more comfortable.

We will work together to form a relationship of trust and confidence, in which you will have the space to explore any difficulties you may be facing.

I am an experienced counsellor who believes that we all need to feel heard, valued and appreciated. I aim to foster these qualities in our relationship, to enable you to experience a relationship in which you feel worthy. Within the space we create, you are welcome to bring your difficulties at your own pace, to enable us to explore them.

Everybody has different experiences throughout their life and they affect us all differently. I will offer you a non- judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and emotions to enable you to gain a greater understanding of where you are. This will allow you to evaluate how these are affecting you and then we can discover how you would like to change their impact on you.

Integrative Counsellor

I trained as an Integrative Counsellor and so base our work on the relationship we form. This allows you to see how you feel and interact in relationships, and how learnt behaviour influences this. We can use this relationship to try different ways of being and responding to yourself and others. As well as the relationship, I may use influences from different theories to aid your exploration and learning.

Working with a counsellor can be unsettling to being with, so it is important in the first session to ensure that we are able to work together. As emotions come to the surface, it is important to ensure that you are safe, so we may find different ways to ensure that you are not overwhelmed. Also, we will work at your pace so that you only bring to the session that which you feel comfortable with.

I have worked with many people who have anxiety and depression. I work with people who have experienced trauma and resulting PTSD, and other diagnosed conditions, such as bipolar, fibromyalgia, amongst others. No one deserves to have a condition run their lives for them… is it time for you to take control of it and live the best life you can?
